Often used as a way to deny LGBTQIA+-identifying folks full inclusion in the life of faith, a few Bible verses have taken on an oppressive life of their own. This seminar through the Westar Institute will have scholars Perry Key and Marti Steussy share info on these verses from the perspective of biblical interpretation and historical criticism, while also pointing out examples of radical biblical inclusion.
The event will take place Monday, Sept. 16th from 8-9pm ET. The scholars will share some of their own work and reflections about these texts, and then we'll open it up for direct Q&A. Registration is free, and the replay will be available immediately following the event so you can still participate, even if you can't listen live.
