Friends near and far,
Join us for cookies, singing and placing the star.
We'll gather around the Christmas tree and sing holiday songs like the show Glee!
So don your Christmas sweaters, ugly or not,
And bring a batch of cookies to exchange or eat with a drink that's piping hot.
Ho Ho Hi!
When do we get to sing with others these days? Join us for an evening of merry making and sharing light in the midst of the long dark days.
We'll gather around the fire and sing some of our favorite Christmas and Holiday songs as well as few from Sufjan Stevens' collection. If you have a musical instrument you'd like to play or song you'd like to sing, please bring it with you. The Petersons now have a piano! If you're a pianist, your fingers are welcome to help with a song or two. Singing is not a requirement! You're welcome to just come and listen and enjoy good company.
RITUAL & STORY
We are interested in sharing in rituals and stories that connect deeply with us. For example Anders' holiday ritual is to sing Silent Night among candle light as a reminder of the light that can shine through dark times. If you have a family or spiritual ritual or story (e.g. poem, song, Holiday story from childhood) that you'd like to share, please do!
The cookie exchange is optional, but in order to participate please bring a batch of 2 dozen cookies. You then take two dozen different cookies home with you. We'll have cookies to decorate too. There will be hot cider and egg nog with a kick to accompany.
Vegetarian chili and cornbread will be at the ready for dinner. Please consider bringing a beverage to contribute.
Friends of friends are welcome!
The invitation is open–you're welcome to bring a friend or two. Just have folks RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
